In 2003 Dave Brailsford initiated changes in British cycling that forever transformed British cycling on the world stage. In short, Brailsford started a path of improving the team by 1% in every conceivable aspect of their training in an approach he called the “Aggregation of Marginal Gains”. The result was transforming a team that was largely the laughing stock of the cycling world into a team that won 60% of the road and track cycling gold medals in the 2008 Olympic Games. In 2012 they set nine Olympic records and seven world records. Members of his teams went on to win the Tour de France 5 out of 6 years from 2012 to 2017.
Small changes sustained over time are one of the keys to success in your life. More to come on transformational topic.
